Thursday 10 June 2021 7.00pm on Zoom – Zara Day
It is never too late to be who you might have been
My talk is about the work I create as part of my bespoke embroidery business, Rosemary Rose – how it developed, my journey of getting to where I am now and the type of work we now produce, showing images.
Thursday 8 July 2021 7.00pm - Sara Cook
Korean Wrapping Cloths
I have enjoyed researching textile techniques from around the world. However Korean Textiles have fascinated me the most and my working practice is inspired by Bojagi principles.
Saturday 9th October 2021 2.00pm - AGM and talk by our Chair, Chris Watkins
Ruddington Methodist Church Hall
Thursday 11 November 2021 7.00pm - Jane Marrows - “Textiles and all that”
Kathryn Ashcroft was due to be our speaker for this evening, but she has had an accident, seriously injured her hand and is awaiting surgery. Once she is able to drive we will be inviting Kathryn back. Jane has kindly stepped in and her talk is titled “Textiles and all that”. She will be bringing a range of textiles and multimedia items which we will be able to see and handle.
Chris has been given some saris made of synthetic fabrics but covered with embroidery, beads, braids, sequins and other embellishments. She has cut them up and put together colour co-ordinated bags which she will be selling at the meeting for a donation to funds with a minimum of £2 per bag.

Saturday 11 December 2021 2.00pm
Members’ exhibition: during lockdown, we have seen some wonderful work in the Newsletter - this will be an opportunity to see some of the work and other pieces which have not featured in print. Also if you undertook the July Challenge 2020, could you please find it - or in my case, create one now - and we will have a display of these.
We normally have a social event with food. However, this year is not normal. There will be mince pies and fruit and it will be a “help yourselves from a box” event! We will also be supplying tea and coffee.
